Internships
Traffic Department
Get hands on experience in the heart of
the TV industry by working with the Traffic Department. These
are the people who make certain the programs get in-house and
on-air. They ensure the quality of all programs and manage the
servers that store all the digital programs. Traffic is a department
that combines advanced software and hardware knowledge with high
levels of organization and attention to detail. Independence Media
of Philadelphia, better known as WYBE TV, is looking for dedicated,
energetic volunteers and interns.
Learning Opportunities
- Learn about the scheduling process for
an analogue and digital television station
- Get experience in the encoding process
and see the steps needed to bring a program to the airwaves
- Undergraduates can earn college credit
Responsibilities
- Entering program descriptions into the
scheduling software
- Tracking programming for encoding from
a variety of sources
- Encoding programs into the broadcast servers
- Data entry of all programming into the
content management system
