Position Description
Located in Philadelphia, Independence Media is transforming a 15-year old public television operation into a new multi-platform media company. The company currently operates WYBE Channel 35 (analog), Channel 34 (digital), and will add a full-scale internet television operation, as well as other products and services. This is a re-start (similar to a start-up, but we've been around for a while), very different from traditional television and very different from PBS.

As we initiate an exciting new hybrid television and internet venture, we are building our revenue team. This position is responsible for clients ("members") throughout the region and throughout the world.

We are looking for a unique individual with sales and relationship management experience. Television/media experience is preferred but not required.

    Specific Responsibilities
    • Acquiring and retaining clients in the for-profit sector for a new service that allows low-cost, high-impact access to the Philadelphia television market, and to audiences throughout the world via the internet
    • Developing, implementing and analyzing marketing programs intended to generate clients.
    • Account management
    • Upsells
    • Coordination with account executives charged with other lines of business.

    • Strong web direct marketing experience (much of our marketing is done either on the air or the web)

    • Flexible; our revenue model is new, unique, and will require adjustment

    Preferred Experience
    • Some start-up experience preferred
    • 2-5 years in account management preferable with a combination of internet marketing, direct marketing, and in-person sales
    • BA or BS
